Ionik is operated by Ionik Health Ltd. This page explains how to request deletion of your Ionik account and the personal data we hold about you, what we delete, and what we may briefly retain afterwards.
How to request account deletion
You can delete your account in two ways:
1. From within the app (recommended)
- Open the Ionik app on your iOS or Android device.
- Go to Account → Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion. Your account and associated data are queued for deletion immediately.
2. By email
- Email help@ionikhealth.com from the address associated with your Ionik account.
- Use the subject line: Delete my account.
- We will confirm receipt and complete deletion within 30 days.
What we delete
When you delete your account, we permanently remove the following data associated with your account from our systems:
- Profile information — name, email address, gender, year of birth, height, weight, training goal, equipment access, training frequency, preferred training time, and self-reported injuries.
- Authentication record — your sign-in account (email and password), managed via Firebase Authentication.
- Workout history — logged exercises, sets, reps, load, RPE, notes, completed sessions, weekly statistics, and personal records.
- AI coach conversation history — messages you exchanged with the in-app AI coach.
- App preferences — theme preference and timezone.
- Subscription records held by us (subscription status only — we never store payment-card or bank account details).
- Promotional or discount-code access on your account.
- Feedback you have submitted through the in-app feedback feature.
What may be briefly retained, and for how long
A small amount of data may persist for a short period after deletion:
- Backups — residual data may remain in routine system backups for up to 90 days, after which it is overwritten.
- Legal and compliance — limited records we are required by law to retain (for example, for tax or fraud-prevention purposes) may be kept for the legally-required period.
- App store purchase records — your subscription and purchase records held by the Apple App Store or Google Play are managed by those stores under their own policies; we do not control these.
Cancelling your subscription
Deleting your Ionik account does not automatically cancel an active subscription purchased through the App Store or Google Play. To stop subscription billing, cancel separately through your Apple ID or Google Play account subscription settings — either before or after deleting your Ionik account.
